Cherokee Symphony
Cherokee is very proud of their Cherokee Symphony Orchestra, an outstanding musical organization. The Symphony was founded in 1956 and has been a vibrant part of Cherokee's cultural climate since that time!
Cherokee Community Theatre
Cherokee's Community Theatre was founded in 1958. More than 53 years later, the Community Theatre remains a wonderful asset to our community. The all-volunteer, self-supporting organization produces high-quality dramas, comedies and musicals on a year-round basis.

Sanford Museum & Planetarium
The Sanford Museum and Planetarium was made possible through a trust fund established by the late Mrs. W. A. Sanford of Cherokee. The trust fund reflects the wishes of both Mrs. Sanford and her husband, a long time banker, that a museum should be built in memory of their only child, who died in his twenties.
The facility was officially opened to the public in 1951. Since then, more than one million visitors have viewed exhibits, attended demonstrations and taken part in a wide variety of activities.
Planetarium programs are given every Wednesday and Sunday at 4:00 p.m. or by appointment for groups of 10 or more, Monday through Friday.
