YARD WASTE PICKUP DATES
       No yardwaste pickup until fall.

CHEROKEE CITY HALL IS NOW A PASSPORT ACCEPTANCE AGENCY!  
We can also take your passport picture with our new digital camera ($8)We have the passport application for you
to fill out for either the passport book or the new passport card.  The passport card may only be used for land and sea
travel between the U. S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.  It cannot be used for international air travel. 
The charge for a passport book for ages 16 & over is $135 ages 15 & under is $105 (this includes the $25.00 execution fee).  
The charge for the new passport card is $55 for ages 16 & over, and $40 for ages 15 & under (this also includes the $25.00

SANFORD MUSEUM HOURS:  9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday - Friday, 
Noon to 5 P.M. Saturday and Sunday.  Planetarium programs are given the last Sunday 
of each month at 2:00 p.m., or by appointment to groups of 10 or more, Monday through

BUILDING LOTS FOR SALE:  The City of Cherokee is offering lots for sale in the 
Doherty Addition (southeast part of Cherokee) for $1,000.00 each.  Contact City Hall at 
712-225-5749 or click on "Doherty Addition" page of website for more information.

OPEN BURNING IS PROHIBITED ANY TIME WITHIN CITY LIMITS!

YARD WASTE:  The Cherokee County Landfill accepts yard waste during their normal business hours at no charge.

DONATE A BENCH TO THE RENOVATED GILLETTE PARK!  
Benches will be located throughout the park and will have a plaque inscribed with the name 
of the giver, or as a memorial.  Contact John Cook at 712-225-5175, or City Hall for more information.

SESQUICENTENNIAL COOKBOOKS are still available and on sale for $5.00.
Great gift idea!  Proceeds from the sale will go toward Christmas decorations for Hwy. 59.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS AVAILABLE:  The Cherokee Fire Department sells and services
