CITY OF CHEROKEE, IOWA PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
The Cherokee Parks Department plans, acquires, develops and maintains high-quality parks to beautify and enhance the City of Cherokee. The crown jewel of the city park system is beautiful Spring Lake Park, located along Hwy. 59 South. This park has 40 camping spaces, 16 with electrical, water and sewer hookups, shower and restroom facilities, asphalt paved walking/jogging trail, modern playground equipment, paddle boats, fishing and many shelter facilities including the Spring Lake Yacht Club. Directly across the highway is Wescott Park, which contains ball diamonds, concession stand and restroom facilities. To reserve shelter space, Spring Lake Yacht Club (full kitchen facilities), or community center space, please call 712-225-2715. Wireless internet is available in the large meeting room at the community center. To reserve camping spaces please call 712-225-3108. The City of Cherokee has a very active Recreation Department.
