BOARD MEETING
January 8, 2008

 

The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Cherokee Aviation Authority was held on Tuesday,
January 8, 2008, at the Cherokee County Regional Airport.  Chairman Kent Wenck called the meeting to
order at 7:00 p.m.

The Oath of Office for Board Members was signed by Kent Wenck and Mike O’Neal.    Both will serve new
four-year terms that will expire in January 2012. The Mayor and City Council re-appointed Wenck.  O’Neal
was reappointed by the Authority with approval of the City Council and Board of Supervisors.  Laverne
Birch was also appointed to a new four-year term by the County Board of Supervisors, but was absent
from the meeting.

Present: Kent Wenck, Mike O’Neal, Mike Fox, Karen Aduddell and FBO Brian Lauck. Absent: Laverne Birch
and Neal Rogge.  A quorum was present

Fox moved, seconded by O’Neal, to retain the following officers for additional two year terms:

            Chairman – Kent Wenck

            Secretary – Mike O’Neal

            Treasurer – Mike Fox

Motion carried.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read.    O’Neal moved, seconded by Fox, to approve the minutes as read.  
Motion carried.

Fox moved, seconded by O’Neal, to approve payment of these bills.  Motion carried.

Reviewed the balance sheet as of January 7, 2008, accounts receivable, profit and loss and checking account
register for the period of December 14, 2007 through January 7, 2008.

There was no fuel report for the month of December due to a computer problem.  The report will be available
next month.

FBO Report:

·        Purchased new tires for the 4020 John Deere tractor

·        Snowblower has been repaired

·        The computer used to record fuel sales is not working.  Brian is getting an estimate from Gregg Computers
for parts and repair to compare to price of a new computer tower

Land acquisition update:  None

Wenck, O’Neal and Lauck will register to attend a workshop for “Land Use Planning Near Airports” to be held in
Spencer on April 3, 2008.  The workshop is sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation for Aviation. 

There being no further business, it was moved by Fox, seconded by O’Neal, to adjourn at 7:55 p.m.  Motion carried.
