The City Manager and City Clerk Offices are located in City Hall.
Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Clerk is appointed by the City Council at the organizational meeting in January.
The City Clerk is responsible for
duties defined by the Code of Iowa and designated by the
City Council. These duties include recording and maintaining
all Council records,
proceedings and ordinances, financial records, and issuance of licenses and permits.
The City Clerk's
Office is also responsible for all financial aspects of the City, which
include preparation and collection of utility bills,
accounts payable, payroll and
investments.
Residents who have questions regarding utility connection/service and utility bills should
contact the City Clerk's Office.
Persons seeking a building permit, sign permit, liquor and beer permits and cigarette
permits should apply in the City
Clerk's Office. Persons seeking a vendor's or
solicitor's permit should contact the Cherokee Police Department.
